On an M that we have not really used much I noticed that it is sometimes hard to get in gear in the low range. I have been reading my shop manual regarding engine clutch adjustment then torque amplifier clutch adjustment and I am prepairing for the session. Before I do it I am curious if there is anything else I should do or be aware of about this clutch system. It does not slip at all in high or low I hope that is a good sign. But I have read past posts on this site and it seems everyone is rebuilding or getting new units. Is long term use under improper adjustment the demise of these units or improper engagement or abuse the culprit or both? I have very little expirence in this area.Any inputs would be appreciated. Thank You.

Ted,If its hard to get into gear your main clutch needs adjusting just follow the manual exactly for both the main and ta adjustment they must be adjusted at the same time do not just adjust one.The main culprit of ta failure is improper or comtaminated lubricant

You need an operators manual to follow the proceedure correctly. Try the classifieds on this site or a bookseller of tractor manuals.
