I was spreading gravel this morning with our 460D on a slight incline. When I tried to put it in reverse it didn't want to move. I keep fooling with it and eventually got it into reverse but letting out the clutch killed the engine. I discoverd that the transmission is in reverse when the shifter is in netural and putting it in any other gear kills the engine. Help What did I do, and what do I do now? Thanks

Gary I would say the lower end of the shift lever is warn off and needs repair or replace. just take the 3 cap screws out of the tower and remove. Set the brakes disengage the clutch and you should be able to use a bar or screw driver to line up the notchs in the rails. After you fix shifter adjust you clutchs.

Thanks ACE that makes sense, The clutch has been at the bottom for a while and I have put off adjusting it. Now I will have to do that. Thanks again G
