Any ideas on how to get sleeves out of an (h) ? I made a puller without looking at it first, to my surprise the liners only enter the inside of the block about a 1/4 of an inch the puler worked great for that first quarter inch now what ?
thanks in advance for your help !

Jonathan; I used a 8 inch steel punch, drove each sleeve up from the bottom, did'nt have to remove the crank just worked around it.
Before putting in the new sleeves I cleaned each cylinder with a cylinder hone.2 years later the H still runs strong.

It took a lot of grinding and filing to get the disk to fit right when I pulled the sleeves on my H (~3.545") . Even at that, it would bind up because it was not pulling exactly straight. Taking the tension off the bolt and trying again worked.

I took a 3" pipe plug and turned it down on the lathe, to about 1/32 of an inch smaller than the bottom of the liner, and used a piece of 7/8" all thread to connect the bottom of the liner to the top of the block. I also made a bridge to use on the top of the block, It should allow for 4" worth of lift out of the liner. By the way when I get done with it you guys are welcome to borrow it !

You need a circular disk that has an outside diameter just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the sleeve. Make one out of 3/8 flat iron and use 3/4 or 1 inch redi-bolt for your pulling bolt.
