Does anyone know what exactly the purpose of the glow plug meter on a 656 diesel is. When I push the switch to heat the plugs the needle maxes out. Should this happen or is something drawing drawing too much current. I put a meter on the plugs and they draw about 7.5 amp a piece. Thanks for your help.

The gauge is an indication of how many plugs are working. If you had only 3 plugs working then the gauge needle would be only halfway over. A grounded circuit to the plugs would also cause the gauge to peg.
