I am considering a PTO driven snowblower. A local dealer says the 140 is too small hp and too fast in reverse for a blower. ANy comments? Has anyone done something like this? and I would appreciate any comments. I'm looking at either a Woods SS52 or SS60. TIA, Tom

Hi -

I've got a front blade on my 140 & use it for snow - works really well until the snow gets to be about 2 feet deep, then forget it...'course you gotta have somewhere to *push* the snow, rather than blowing it up and over your piles/drifts.

Cheers
Pete

Hugh is correct. The 140 is a good blade tractor, gears are too fast for anything that needs to work at a slow speed. I even have some trouble with a belly mower in tight spaces because the pto isn't live.

Tom: Not only is the 140 too fast the snow blower just isn't going to make you very happy without live pto. That would be the same if you had 50 hp.
