I'm going to a sale in a couple of weeks that has a 54 non running super h for sale tin & tires look to be average in the sale bill picture. How much would this tractor be worth?

Thanks Ron

Ron, its like Hugh says hard to tell what it would be worth, I would try to find the reason it isnt running and make my bid decision based on what has to be done to get it going. Ed

Ed: That is a good point try and find out why it doesn't run. One year ago my son was looking at this 140 we have. He went to look one day and suggested to the owner they try to tow start it. They declined saying it was no use, it wouldn't start. Sandy called me and said," What do you think I should offer." My responce." If it will not start and the vendor doesn't want to try it is little more than a parts tractor and make your offer accordingly." He did and they accepted. They were somewhat less enthusiastic went a friend and I went there and had it going in 5 min. So Ron, if no one starts that tractor on the day of the auction, act accordingly.

Ron: No one can answer that one, with any honesty. I will depend very much where this auction is located, and who is there to bid.

I'll give you a bit of advice though at buying at auctions. Never let anyone know you are remotely interested in anything in an auction. When you go there look all the tractors over and never spend extra time on the one you are interested in. Those guys monitor who is determined to have particular items and there will be someone put in place to run you up. They may even take a look at this discussion, just to see what's hot in their sale.

In central Illinois a fully restored stage 2 Super H will bring $2500.00 to $3500.00 All you can do is start deducting the costs of getting it there. There is currently one located in Vermont on Ebay that is up to $2000.00 and the auction just started.
