I was at an auction a while back, and a grill that
looked the same as that for an A or B sold.

What was strange about it was the part of the grill that had the horizontal ribs were missing.

In place of the ribs was a screen? I wondered if this grill would have fit my A farmall. It sold for $12.

Anyone know what this grill fit, and why it had the screen on it? Was $12 a good buy?

Might have been for a Cub also. A and B grills are not the same by the way. The bottom is different. Dave.

Grilles like that were used on power units on balers, or combines, or windrowers, and probably other dusty and dirty applications.

A few more dirty dusty applications were power units for saw mills, irrigation pumps, Ferris wheels, Tilt-a-whirls, Rock-O-planes, Loop-O-planes, and Caterpillars (carnival type not to be confused with D-4's)
