have a chance to buy a f 12 . motor is stuck, tires bald and weathered, needs paint, other minor things. maybe even possible to get for $100. i figured i part it out for more money if nothing else. is it worth it ?

last week on a sale.Think I would pass if it was

I payed $300 for my F12 and its about the same as yours other then its on steel all the way around.

Anytime you can buy a tractor for 1 to $200 I would say is worth the money, unless it is completely just nothing but scrap iron. Even then it is probably worth the money but would only be worth the headache if you were in the scrap metal buisness. One that runs and drives around the yard should be worth a $500 minimum. Just my 2 cents.

I paid more than that for mine and it sounds like they were in the same condition. Look at it from two perspectives. If you plan on parting it out, is there enough there to "part"? If you plan to restore it, is there enough of a foundation to make a go of it? If it's a decent rolling chassis but is missing/needs the expensive bits, maybe you could get 'er going again. Depends on what your ultimate goal is. I really like working on this model as it's so simple and easy to maneuver around in a small shop like mine.
