I was just wondering if they ever made one. The belly model is pain to put on and off when you use the tractor in the garden, too. I have a few areas I can't use a bushog on. If they made them, where do you look for one?

Daniel: My dad bought a new Farmall 130 in 1958. At that time a 1 point fast hitch mower was not available from IH. I know we asked several times after that, with same results, not available. I doubt if we even asked after 1970, not sure.

In the past 50 years I have had 6 of these tractors, 4 of them with 1 point fast hitch. I somehow can't believe there was ever one available without my knowing about it. I know what Wengers have. They sell one and they always have one. Sounds like an after market fabrication to me. On the balanced head mowers, I also have a 1968 buyers guide, which mentions 3 point, 2 point, semi-mount and trailer. However I see nothing mentioned on 1 point. I will admit that doesn't mean it didn't happen, just didn't happen in 68.

I am a bit skeptical.

I've seen a 1pt fast hitch sickle mower. They are out there. Wenger's of Myerstown had one.

The IH 120 balanced mower can be made to work on the one point fast hitch. It shows it in the 120 mower book. The 120 is one of the best mowers ever made.

Does the 120 have a tail wheel?

Yes the 120 has a tail wheel. I had a 120 mower. I sold it some years ago, but i still have the book for it. Under hitching the mower to the tractor, it tells how to attach it to Super A, 100,130 and 140 tractors with One-Point Fast Hitch. (High clearance tractors can not be used with this mower)

Is there any way I could get a copy of that section of the manual? I would be interested in see how it was attatched. Thanks.

What you have here is the perfect excuse to buy another Farmall and protect it from the scrap yard.

(don't know if they made a fast-hitch sickle mower)

Why not? You should have at least one tractor for each implement.

Besides, get the tractor for you, not for your wife :)

Actually, no. Have 42 tractors last count, working on no. 43, a SM. (Also have lots of implements)

Understanding wife.

She has a sister, but she would not be so understanding.
