Hi guys. This might be a stretch of a question but does anyone have any ideas on what a 656 diesel wide front 2800 hours would bring at auction in the central east coast area (Maryland)? I looked around the site and got numbers from $2500-5000, but not really the areas where they were sold. Many times the area of the nation where the tractor is has an impact on sale price. That along with 9 million other factors. Theres one coming up for auction here in the next few weeks and i'd like to know whether i can get my hopes up or not. Thanks!

I bought one last year off of a "tractor jockey" in Central PA for $5200.00 . Field ready 1967 row crop gear drive Diesel, wide front, flat top fenders, very good tires, 2 remotes around 4000 hrs and fair paint. He also included delivery(about 45 miles)in this price. As others have said, be careful of the Hydro models, especialy if you are planning on doing any tillage work with it. Big $$$$$$ to fix.

Is it a utility model or rowcrop? Utility models normally bring more because there seems to be a higher demand for them around here. I have seen several sell for $3000-$5500 the past few years. The Used Tractor Price Guide gives a range of $3500 to $6000 depending on condition. Hydro models bring a little less than gear drives. Keep in mind there is always a risk buying at auctions. I personally would not pay more than $5000 no matter how good it looked unless I knew the history of that particular tractor. A paint job can make the worst pile of junk look decent. Also, the 656 was produced from 1967 to 1972.

A lot of it depends on the direction the wind is coming from. I paid $2500 for a good runner that needed paint.

Hi,

A good clean geared diesel here will bring an easy $6500 if it is up to snuff and field ready. But, it all depends on the area you are in, I guess.

2800 hours isn't even warmed up good yet; but watch that hydro. Make sure it works okay.

If it has good paint and tires and runs good it would bring $6000 to $7500 in central Illinois
