I think I found a 1456 gold demonstrator for sale. 5000hrs and in very good condition. Just how rare are they and what are they worth. Has anyone purchased one lately or seen one sold. This would be a nice addition to my collection.

third party image

To give you some idea, this 1026 Hydro was at the Natl. Farm Machinery Show in Louisville last month. It was being sold by a tractor jockey, had a flawless paint job, all new tires, and 5000 hours on it. Price tag was $21,500. They had refused an offer of $20,000 the morning I was there.

I have seen some paint jobs in my life, and I have seen flawless machines. However, this machine abuses the others. I have set the picture as the desktop of my computer, as it is easily the second most beautiful thing I've ever seen, only to my girlfriend.

I recently got handed down a Gold 1456 DEMO from my greatuncle which he loved and kept close to his heart. And now its mine to do the same to as of April,3,2005 I started a major restoration on it. It was ran very hard which meant i needed to have a complet overhaul on the motor, so im in the process now of getting it ready for paint and if anyone knows where i can get a steering cover on the dash call me @ 1-937-465-2361, also w gatewood i can get u my #s on the machine.

All golds are demos i thought, just like the white letter series and cubs. I dont think they made just gold farmalls.

I think what w gatewood means is that Rich said he "thinks" he found a gold demonstrator, and I think w might be wondering why he "thinks" It either is or it isn't, but I would bet that someone would paint one gold and sell it as one where in fact it was never originally gold. They are few and far between, as I have never seen one in real life, but I will have at least a couple in my collection some day. How bout that 1026 picture? WOW.

I have a friend who doesn't have a computer but would like to know the value of his 1971 1456 IH four wheel drive Gold demo. All original. 3200 hours. he says it's in great shape. If you put your telephone number in the email, I will pass it along to him.
