I heard or read somewhere that IH or maybe an aftermarket supplier made a bumper for the IH 140. Does anyone know about this? I checked the parts book under attachments and found nothing.

Will: The guys are right, these were all after market and most of them quite local or regional. You will see quite different types and styles in different parts of the country. A lot of them were built by individuals and were probably a one shot deal. If you go to the Farmall photo gallery, bring up all the A, SA, 100, 130 and 140 you will find a variety of these. It may give you some good ideas to take to a local fabricator.

I have one of these, fabricated myself, and designed specifically for mounting some self fabricated attachments associated with vegetable planting. My bumper is suspended from the two lugs on back of cultivator mounts, with 3" chanel iron coming through about 3" below front axle. From there I just have 1.5" square tubing vertical out front of grill, with some cross members between them. Mine is braced top and bottom to flat spot with two 5/8 holes on right side of clutch housing.

I bought one through a dealership in AL a few months ago. Paid around $75.00. Their # is 256-974-5021. I think a company out of KY makes them.

It is identical to the one in the picture below.

Yes, I've seen them and have one on a 140 but don't 'think' they were IH made. Scroll down on this page to "Finally Got One" from Butch H. He has a nice photo of one on an "A".
