Carb parts mounting

Bought an overhaul package for the Zenith carburetor of my Farmall Super A. The package contains 20+ parts and for most parts it is obvious where they should be mounted.
Included are two plastic foam washers (which fit on the throttle shaft and are approx. 1/16" thick). Where should these go?
Another question I have concerns the seal that goes on the throttle shaft. Normally (in gear boxes and hydraulic cylinders) the lip of the seal faces the "pressure" side. So in those cases one always mounts seals with the lip facing inward. Does that imply that the lip of the seal on the throttle shaft should face outward? (Pressure outside carb is greater than pressure inside carb.)
Your help will be greatly appreciated. Hendrik

Hendrik;

It depends somewhat on the particular kit you have. The felt/foam is normally used on the choke shaft to keep act as a dust seal. This pertains to the seal as well. The seal goes on the throttle shaft to keep dust away from the suction, so the lip should face out.

Hendrik:

Click on the link below. I know it is a Cub Manual Server, howerver there is a few Super A manuals on the site as well. The Owner's Manual, the Special Attachments Manual and the TC-39B Parts Catalog is on the site.

The TC-39B has an exploded view of the carb, and you should be able to rebuild the carb with that diagram.

Hope this helps
