What size battery does a Farmall 100 use? It's a 6 volt positive ground. I don't have the old one and I have not ordered a new battery box yet to see what will fit.

Also what type of fluid/oil do you put in the hydrolic unit. It's for the same tractor.

Thanks Mike

The small 6V battery that you refer to is commonly called a "group one". Any battery shop will know what that means.

mdshilli: On the battery box I have a 130 and 140, same box as your 100. If you don't get an answer by morning I will measure, and get back to you.

Hyd fluid is anything that meets Case-IH Hytran specs. I don't have exact specs for the battery, just a small nearly square battery, not the rectangular or oblong one, perhaps someone else will measure.

FWIW my Farmall 100 was converted to 12v. As I have torn the engine somewhat apart and the battery is also out I measured the 26XHD 12volt battery that barely slips in the box.
8 1/4"L x 6 1/4"W x 8"H (to the tops of the battery posts)
