I was in a Salvage yard this morning and they have 2 F-20's or Regulars (??) that have open gear steering on them. both tractors were savable.

They are Regulars - the predecessor of the F-20. Often, Regulars were retro-fitted with an enclosed steering mechanism (F-20 Design) which used a worm gear arrangement to replace the "Thumb Breaker" open gear system.

I may be wrong but I think only eariler regulars had open gear steering. Sounds like they should be saved. Eveyone that has a scrap yard near by should keep a look out for gems now that scrap prices are so high. My 2cents.

In North Central IL. I don't think the owner is going to scrap them out. He does have some some neat stuff though. I bought a B off him a couple a years ago and other parts.
