Today I ran across a 1951 M on LP and a '52 H with a 2 row corn picker. Appears both have been sitting for years. The head is gone on the H. Every thing else seems to be on both tractors. When did Farmall begin with LP on M's. Would the tractors be worth the effort to get and part out? I see good activity and good prices on ebay but am unsure about the M on LP. I currently have a '48 wide front M and will use a few of the parts.

GWeeks, IH didn,t start making FACTORY LPs until the Super M , Stage II Tractors, not the SMTA, Stage III tractors, As 42farmallH had incorrectly stated. (sorry)
Check the tag....Run the #s on it for grinns & giggles. It it isn't stuck.....convert it back to gas. $400, top offer on it where it sets, unless it is carring something different in equipment.
Yes it will part out like any other tractor.
If you could get it running it will be worth more $$$ than not.
Where is this tractor located? Someone here on YT probably will be intrested !
Good luck
John A.

The LPG Ms were popular in South in fiftys fuel was cheap and engines lasted longer than gasoline engines. For parts about only thing on LPG tractor that will not work on gasoline tractor is fuel tank, fuel lines, regulator/vaporizer and carb. If LPG M has been stored out of weather and is complete you should be able to sell it as complete tractor easily. There are several LPG fans on this forum.

M's never came with LP from factory. First factory LP Farmall was the Super MTA.

Sorry, my mistake - must have been thinking about something else - too many things going on right now, thoughts just don't stay straight.

Thanks for the correction!
