Anybody got ideas for removing the clutch pilot bearing on Farmall H ? I can't seem to find a puller small enough to get in behind the bearing which has about 3/16" clearance between the bearing and the flywheel. All ideas will be considered gratefully. Thanks

Ha Ha good luck. I broke a puller on mine.
I took my stick welder and melted the inerrace out and took the balls out. Then welded 3 beads on the inside of the outer race. Let it cool down then outer race slipped out no problem.
I posted my clutch exploits on my web site.

Thanks for the responses. This is a ball bearing.

Take a hacksaw blade, make two cuts the long way, (cutting thru it), then you can remove it easily

The simplest way to remove this bearing is to fill the cavity with THICK grease, then use a suitable rod that is very close "slip or slightly snug" to the bearing i.d. Use this rod to compress the grease and it will drive the bearing out. It's messy sometimes, but it works, I have done this many times. The rod should be the same diameter as the machined surface just forward of the clutch splines on the input shaft of the transmission. It works because hydraulic pressure presses the bearing out. Hope it works for you!

Someone showed me this trick a few years ago. I've used it several times. It works great. Pilot must fit bearing ID, no air in the recess behind the bearing, just a couple good raps, its out.

Is this a "ball bearing" or a "bushing"?
