I found a farmall m tractor locally. It runs but probably needs a tuneup. The paint is gone but the metal looks to be ok. It has a single front wheel. The back tires are holding air but are badly weathercracked. The PTO will not engage. It has an aftermarket 3 point hookup and the hydraulics on it work. I think I can pick it up for $600. Is this a good deal? I am mainly wanting this unit to use around my house for shredding once I fix the pto and using my small box blade to maintain the road.

Just watched a '52 Super M /w aftermarket wf sell at an auction yesterday for $1575! Hadn't been run in 8 years, no compression on #1, hoses rotten, poorly repainted years ago now faded orange. Makes that $600 for an M sound pretty reasonable.

$600 sounds like a buy price to me. I would offer a little less just to see if they would take it. If not, it is still well worth the money to go ahead and pay the $600 to buy it. If I was really wanting it, I might go a little over that if they wouldn't take the $600, but would hold back on paying any more than $700 for this one. You will rap up a bunch of money in it real fast if you have to put on new tires. Just my 2 cents.

$600 is a good price for a running M.

The after market 3 point is worth most of the $600.00 if it is a decent one and is in good shape. You could part it out and get more than $600.
