Last weekend at the farm show they had the DX seris Farmall tractors on display Went from the DX18E (18hp) to DX55 (55hp) They also had a Farmall cub on display with the new DX tractors with a todays list price of $21,000.00 if you were looking to buy a cub at todays prices. Has anyone else seen the DX Farmall series tractors and what do you think about them. I still like my cub and Super A my self after seeing the DX line of Farmall's

Leon: In my opinion it's rather reckless use of the word Farmall. Just a bunch more offshore junk.

Funny story. I work for a New Holland dealership in the summers, and before the DX series had officially be unveiled, we got this unusual tractor in we had purchased off lease returns. It was a NH, but it had a maroon hood, no decals on the sides, and a CaseIH logo on the front grill. I was very intrigued and couldn't seem to find an answer. I was shortly answered when I heard that the "new" DX line was coming out. It was an odd site to see the maroon hood and blue fenders, but I knew something was up. I agree that the Farmall name should have been used for the row crop. And in response to the last persons post saying they are all fords, that is completely false. The Ford name in tractors no longer exists. Go in you local New Holland dealer and try to find the Ford logo. There will be a poster up that says "We're as loyal to Ford as you are" with a guy wearing a NH hat on. NH ordered for dealer standards that all Ford logos be taken down. Yep, we are in a new world.

Haha, the boomer name is not used often. The TC's are around though. Along with the TT, TN, TB, TL, TS, TS###A, TM, TG, and TJ.

I agree with rustyfarmall about degrading the classic farmall name.

I suppose they will be fine for the urban yuppie. I just wish they hadn't degraded the Farmall name by putting it on a non USA built tractor. Just my opinion, and it usually isn't worth much.

Rusty: Your opinion sounds good to me. I say if it's offshore junk call it that, not Farmall.

DX's are built in Georgia. The JX series is built in Turkey... it would have been cool if CaseIH made the JX series the Farmall series, and moved them to the US..

Are they built in Georgia? Or merely assembled there?

Assembled. I'm not sure what the % of the parts is strictly US, Canada, and Mexico.

The DX tractors are a nice line. They are very reasonably priced for thier size. We have a few on order right now.

If I was in the market for that type of tractor, I would consider it, I just wish they weren't called Farmall, and if they wanted to bring back the name, why didn't they put it on some of their row crop tractors -- as that is what the Farmall was developed to be, a row crop tractor, not a utility. Utilities were International, row crops Farmall. I also know you work for C and G (hope this post doesn't get deleted), thus it is natural for you to be complimentary. I have also read your excellent books, so this is not intended to be a negative post, not to you anyway. A question -- what is the difference between a NH Boomer and the new Farmalls, different color paint, more sizes, or completely different?

Probably nothing wrong with the tractor when used for it's intended purpose. Probably competitive with JD, NH, Agco, etc. It's just that it takes more than a name to make it a Farmall. Perhaps if CIH would have kept the Farmall name after the merger (IH had already dropped it), perhaps the "new" tractor is what Farmall would have evolved to, who knows? As it stands now it's just another run of the mill utility, I'm not saying a utility isn't useful. I read that 70% of the new tractor market goes to the surburban yuppie, etc.
