So there I was, mowing along nicely, when my 57(?) Cub fell dead beneath me. No sputter, no hic-up, instantly dead in its tracks. Then along came my Kubota and well, the Cub got ignored. I know, I am as guilty as OJ Simpson, however, I at least feel bad.

I worked my way through the usuall suspects when this first happened; points, cap, roter, coil, -and nothing. I have had all sorts of fix it ideas from well intentioned fellows but I have been uninclined to make much of a move. But now, the guilt is more thant I can stand. I am out to see the thing run again.

Do you suggest a complete tear down?

The poor thing has been sitting for over a year. I pull it around now and then and it doesn't seem to have "frozen up" yet.

Humbly,
Kurt

Lets check the basics. -Do you have spark ?
If not fix that and then proceed on.
-Do you have gas getting to the carb ?
If gas is getting to the carb are the plugs wet with gas after cranking ?
If all of the above is true then it could be a timing or compression issue.
Or it could be something else altogether I have overlooked.
