I'm thinking of buying a 3688. I don't know much about them. What should I need to know to buy one?

I think they are about equal to the 986 with a 436 cu in non turbo motor with the same eight speed with TA transmission like the 986 with a few updated addons.

you sure its a d436? The 966(earlier equivalent) ran the d414 and the 1066 dt414

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers with this post but I guess I would have to ask Jon to qualify his "No". I have never seen or been around a 3688 so I don't have an opinion or really care. Tractors are a lot like cars and pickups. Everybody has there favorite manufacturer and model. It usually comes from postive/negative experiences. There are usually good and bad points on all makes and models of tractors. Sometimes this can be a design problem and sometimes it could be from trying to use a tractor for something for which it wasn't designed. Sometimes is is just a "lemon". Just my $0.02 worth.
