My 52 SM has a seat which I can not seem to find, its kinda flat on the bottom and has a back rest made out of pipe, its factory.
It dosen't look like the pan style.
Anybody have an idea what this is and where I can get a replacemant pan ?
Is there a way I can post a picture of it on this site ?
Thanks

Don't be too quick to throw it away. Could be a seat off a 560, some of them had a pipe backrest. Email me and i can show you how to post a pic

The seat you now have is an aftermarket replacement, it's anyones guess which company built it, there were dozens of companies building these seats which were supposed to be more comfortable, and easier on your back, most of them have long ago faded into history. There are several places where you can get an original type pan seat, in fact my local Case-IH dealer has them in stock. Do a web search for Farmall seats, or something similar. I would bet that you come up with several sites to choose from.

The parts manual shows three different seat arrangements with the SM. All three of them just show the regular pan style seat. My brother has a '53 SM that has a seat that will flip upside to the right. This tractor has had many owners so not sure if/when the seat has been replaced. The parts manual doesn't show this option.
