Just bought a '52 Farmall C. Previous owner says that when he pours water in the radiator it comes out of the inspection hole under the Clutch/Flywheel. I thought those water jackets on the F-12, C's etc. usually push out on the side of the block. He didn't think it froze. I didn't think there were freeze plugs in the back. Any ideas?

The plug probably just rusted through.

There are what appears to be 2 freeze plugs on the back of the engine (at least on my 1950 C)but one of them is actually just a cover over the end of the Cam bore that keeps the oil from pumping out the back of the motor.
If you stand and look at the back of the engine, the plug at about the 2 o'clock position is the cam bore cover and the one at the 10 o'clock position is a freeze plug for the water jacket.
Here is a link to a picture....sorry that it's a little dark.
Picture is big so it will take a little time to load.

There are definitely frost plugs back there, you'll have to split it to get at them, be sure to replace pilot bushing while you have it apart..

Thanks guys for the help and the picture of the freeze plug on the back. Good to know one is the cam cover and the other is the freeze plug. That has to be where the water is coming from. Dragging it home tomorrow to split it and check it out. Gave $300 for a very complete tractor and a nice 5 ft. drag shreader so can't go to wrong. Thanks again guys. Will post what I find.
