The engine is a 4" overbore with high compression pistons, firecrater? I am putting the engine back together and am in the process of installing new rings. I bought the Hastings kit. The original oil ring setup had a spring\oil limiter behind the ring. The Hasting kit did not come with one. Does anyone know if I should use the old spring or just use the parts that came in the kit?

I would call hastings. If springs are required the kit should contain them. No used parts as far as the ring package.

Good call Lee, thanks! I contacted Hastings via the computer and they said their kit was all that is needed.

Resting easier in NY.
