Did the '54 Super H have live PTO? The serial # puts in about middle of the '54s. I thought it did, but the one I'm looking at doesn't. Thanks.

Dale: It is not possible to even install IPTO on a Super H. The torque tube is completely different on tractors with IPTO. 300 was the first in that size. SMTA had it as they changed to chassis to same configuration as 400-450 as it relates to the power train.

If you have heard of SHTAs they were all customer built from 300 or 350 chassis.

Now you could have a form of live pto on a Super H by installation of an M & W hand clutch. With that you can stop the tractor while pto keeps turning, but you can't change gears.

According to my 1960 Tractor Data Book, the Super H did not have live pto.

According to Guy Fay's Tractor Data Book live pto was neither standard or optional for the Super H. I believe the SMTA was the first with live pto.

I have a 54 Super H and it does not have LPTO. My neighbor has one also that is newer than mine and it does not either.

According to a book my Dad got for Christmas, there was a Super HTA planned with TA and "live" PTO, but they skipped it and went straight to the 300.
