Check the screen in the top of the glass bowl fuel filter. If not this, try taking the gas tank cap off. Vent in cap could be plugged, causing a vacuum in the tank. Last, could be the carb float just a little out of adjustment or a slightly restricted fuel line.

One good way of un-gunk-ing fuel system parts is to disassemble them and then soak the parts in Lime-Away. Gasoline sediment is on the alkali side of the spectrum, and Lime-Away is an acid. If you want to go more gently, it is possible that vinegar will also work. The good part about Lime-Away is that it eats rust at the same time as it degunks the fuel parts. Rinse well, because the iron oxides (rust) are changed into iron phosphates, which are water soluable.

Be sure to neutralize the acid before reassembly. A mild solution of baking soda and water will do this. Rinse well.

Hey rat...look for ya whenever I drive through Oxford (quite often) but I never see ya...course you probably don't walk around with "riverat" printed on your shirt!
Good call here; our Super C did the same...tank needed cleaned and sealed, rust clogging things up!
I teach at Norwich, and live in Binghamton, so yell at me sometime, maybe we can grab a coffee sometime and talk tractors on my way through! Pete

The tank, carb, lines and bowl could have water in them or old stale gas.

Take the glass bowl all the way off and look up into where it came off. There should be a screen of some sort, kinda like fly screens in your windows. But you said when you drained the bowl the gas came fast at first then slowed down. Do this again, but next time after it slows down, take your gas cap off the tank. Sounds like a vent problem like I mentioned before. Anyway, make sure your screen is clean before going any further. Hope this helps. - good luck!

There may be a screen on the fitting(short pipe) that goes up into the gas tank. Take that out and flush out the gas tank. I would use hot water.
