Hello, I'm new here, but judging by the content I figured this would be the place to ask about a tractor.

Don't know what year it was made, but it looks old. Guessing 50's vintage. The chrome plate on the side says 300 utilty. International is on the engine cover.

I am not a tractor person, but I borrowed one to use the auger attachment. Learned a long time ago to check fluids in equipment. Especially borrowed equipment.

I checked water, engine oil, but can't figure out where the hydraulic fluid is checked. There appears to be a hydraulic pump at the front of the engine with a cap. I can see no fluid of any kind in this "pump". This pump is connected with 2 steel lines that go to the hydraulic block mounted on top of the rear end. Is this where the hy-fluid is checked?

Also, what kind of oil is in the rear end? Just regular, heavy gear oil like a car?

Any info would be apreciated. Thanks.

there is a square-headed plug under the seat to check and add the hyd oil. takes maybe a 7/8 or 15/16 wrench, not sure, its been a while.

The cap that looks like it is attached to the hydraulic pump is where you put in engine oil. It is towards the front of the engine right "under" the distributor.
