Does anyone have a picture of the linkage from throttle end to govener or know where I can locate one. Someone coverted the one over on my tractor to the saw tooth style like on a gas Super M or Mta and the only reason I can think they changed it over is that the original would not work with the Charlyn power steering set up that is on the tractor. I would like to put throttle back to original and keep power steering if possible. Any different Brackets that I may need such as the one that holds the gauges where the steering shaft goes through ? Hopefully I haven't confused everyone. Thanks...

I have two Super M-TA Diesel's and one Super MD with power steering and they have the original throttle control lever. Just some thing you will have to have to put it back is the friction brake and the throttle rod off a Super M-TA Diesel because the M-TA are longer than a MD.
The reason most have been changed is, most don't like the left handed throttle, or up speed up the engine is a little hard to get used to. The friction brake is another reason they got changed. The brake needs to be adjusted to hold the engine speed and if the brake disc get glaze it's hard to get adjusted with out making the throttle hard to push up the throttle to speed up the engine.

Duane, I have a Super M TA Diesel with both the correct throttle linkage, and also charlyn power steering. I will see if I can get a pic of it for you in the next few days-- that is, if you still need it. Let me know.

Duane, There must have been some kind of a throttle modification kit for MD's. Mine had one like you are describing. I was lucky enough to find an original one on an MD in the salvage yard. The one I found had the complete linkage in tact. I was so happy to find it I probably would have been willing to give a lot of money for it. The salvage yard only charged me $20 for the whole thing. They didn't have any more on any of the MD's in the yard, though. I don't think I have a picture of the linkage, but will look and see. Roger

The origanal style had a rod 1/2" dia. going through the part that holds the steering columm and a lever offf that that pulled a rod up and down. I had an M with power steering that I think would have interfered, because the hydraulic "motor" on the steering shaft would have encroched on that spot. Good luck, Geoff
