Ron:

The operator's manual for the 300 Utility gives 5th gear speeds of 14.7 and 16.7 m.p.h., respectively, at 1,750 and 2,000 r.p.m. (This is assuming 12-38 pneumatic tires.) In case you're interested, the speeds are 9.9 and 11.3 m.p.h. with the torque amplifier engaged.

According to Guy Fay's Tractor Data book the rated rpm's are 1750 and some at 2000. He just shows a 5th gear speed at 15.4 mph. If you assume everything else on the tractor is the same for both of the engine speeds then at 2000 rpm it should run about 17.6 mph.

The rowcrop FARMALL ran 1750 RPM and had 38" rear rubber, The International utility tractor ran 2000 RPM and only had 26" or 28" rear rubber. I think the final drive reduction ratio also changed between the rowcrop & utility, the bullgear & pinion tooth could could be different.
