Figured out why I couldn't get it to work right. Have system plumbed now so all valves, christmas tree, regular hydraulic and liftall valve are in series. Had to move lift all handle to neutral position to get others to work right. Now I am concerned that I have no relief valve in at least part of the system and if that will damage pump. Plumbed as follows, pressure line from live pump to inlet of christmas tree valve, outlet of christmas tree to inlet of other hydraulic valve, outlet of that valve to inlet of lift all valve reservoir, return line from reservoir to pump. Other valves won't work when lift all handle locked back. Do I have a problem? Thanks in advance

Dan;

That's pretty much the same way I have my SMTA plumbed except I also have a priority valve before the double hydraulic valve assembly. The priority valve is for the power steering unit and it has a pressure relief valve built into it. Here's how I plumbed mine, the pressure line goes to the priority valve and one outlet goes to the inlet side of the double valve assembly. The outlet goes to the pressure side of the reservoir tank. The other outlet from the priority valve goes to the power steering motor and the outlet from that ties into the return line to the hydraulic pump. Yes you have to have the Lift-All lever forward for it to work. I have pictures of my set-up if you would like to see it, e-mail me.
