I have a farmall 560 diesel with a bad engine. My question is there an engine out of an old combine that will fit in this tractor. Old combines are cheap in our area and this is too good of tractor to part out. I have my eye on a 503 will that work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just remember when changing the engine from a combine to a tractor that the front engine cover is different on a combine. Also the exhaust manifold is too.

we put a 715 combine engine in our 560 diesel 10 years ago. it will bascially bolt right in.
the oil fliter doesn't need to be changed out.
the spin on is much nicer. ours is puttin out 75hp. we paid $1800 for the engine.

good luck!

Duane

find a 301 out of a 715 combine and it will make a horse out of it.

yes I have a 403d in my 560 change the front motor plate from tractor too combine engine use tractor flywheel and rear engine plate. You must use the castiron filter base off the tractor on to the combine engine if it has the aluminum one to clear the steering shaft you need to plug one hole and drill another for oil bypass. The combine engine will run more rpm than the tractor engine.
