Thanks for the help in advance, As i do not know much about tractors, A family member has aked me to help him with his tractor repair, he needs a carberator. the info i could gather is, s/n 189273J 1815 rpm. From my homework so far, i think it is a 1954 farmall super c. am i correct?
and is it a zenith carb. or another one. that is where it gets confusing.

I'm trying to remember without going out to look at mine..... I think if you look at the side of the carb toward the front, the Carter has UT stamped there...you might have to get down on your knees and kinda look up at it because it is on a portion of the carb that faces downward at maybe a 45 degree angle.

I hope this helps some....Several weeks back the same question was asked and I went out and looked at mine to answer it,but I can't remember the exact post.
Anyway...I remember that it is either the front or back and not on the side facing out or toward the motor.

Hope this helps !

The Zenith carb will have "Zenith Made in USA" stamped on the bottom (underneath) the float chamber. It is cast iron and feels very heavy if you have it off the tractor. The Carter is made of an alloy and is lighter feeling. I don't recall exactly what is written on it. On the Zenith the idle mixture adjustment screw goes in at a 45 degree angle where the Carter's screw sets at 90 degrees.

On the serial # tag is a 2-letter prefix(C & S/C=FC). The engine serial number is located behind coil on a flat milled surface on engine block(C&S/C=FCM). Both these prefix numbers will help identify your tractor.Find & post here, someone will know what you have.

It depends. Where did you find the serial number? If it was on a plate attached to the seat box, then yes, it is a 1954 Super C. If the plate is attached to the flywheel housing it could be an H or an M.

The Super C's typically had one of three carburetors, either Zenith, Carter or Marvel-Schebler.

The Super C is a fine tractor. I have a 52 model. You should see if your friend will sell it to you.

Thanks for the help guys, The serial number is on the seat box, it is very worn out tho, hardly could see it. Next question is how can i tell if it is a zenith or carter or marvel-schebler. Or are these carbs all the same.
