Is my Farmall tractor a B or a BN?

Can anyone tell me the difference between a B and a BN tractor. My serial number is FAB 140111. My tread width with my wheels narrowed up is 67" on center. I would really appreciate any information on this. Thanks. Bill Hughes

It's my understanding that some of the early BNs did not have the N after the FAB...not sure when in the series the N was added. The seat test is pretty reliable. If it touches the fender it's a BN, if it's 4 inches away...it's a B.

parts man is correct, that FAB prefix tells us that it's a Farmall B. The picture is of a BN that has been sitting for a while (currently under restoration).

The serial# tells the tail,,, it's a B, the BN would have a FABN prefix.

The easy way to decide is If it looks like an A farmall with a narrow front end then it is a BN.

Sounds like a B. Does the right hand seat support match up to the fender or is there is a supporting bracket to the footplate. The former is a BN and the later a B (because it is wider).

Minimum tread on B is 64, BN 56.
