This weekend, I bought a 560 with a totally blown engine. I have a 915 combine with a DT414 engine. Can anyone give me information on how easy it would be to transfer the DT414 into the 560.....thinking of building a pulling tractor. Thank you for you advice in advance.

Keith Should not be to hard saw a 436 from 1466 in SM it looked like it belonged in there. The gas tank on the 560 over the engine would be the hard part.

You also have to consider the steering. The 560 has a steering shaft from the steering wheel to the front unlike the 06-56-66 series tractors with hyd. steering. I think the motor will be too tall for that tractor with out raising the fuel tank and a lot sheet metal work.

I know somebody that turbo'd a 560 diesel and it was turnin 100 horses and they pulled a 6 bottom plow with it. it was cool BUT they had a terrible time keeping the rear end together. They then upgraded to a 1206 and solved there troubles. I think im gonna side with everybody saying the rear end wont like this idea.

Forget it. The 414 will not even come close to fitting without totally butchering the tractor. If you did ever get it to fit the rear end would not stand it. Why not find a salvage yard with a decent used engine for the 560 and see if you can work some kind of trade with the 414 motor? You will be a lot happier. If you want a pulling tractor find something besides a 560 diesel.

It can be done. I have a freind that has a 466 in a 560, what a power house!! Frame rails will be the only problem, may have to use off of a 66 series tractor. email me if you like, will tell you what I know about this conversion, it is not that hard. ChadS

You're talking about custom everything forward of the bell housing. The big question is if the 560's rear end will take the abuse...
