I am looking on the internet at a place in PA and it is called eastwood auto. They have paint stripper for sale on there. My friend used it on his old car he was restoring and I was wondering if any of you guys like this paint stripper that eastwood is selling. They also have a rust remover I am aslo wondering how that works. If any of you guys can help me I am looking into buy some for striping my Ford Jubilee and my Farmall Super A.

I used a paint stripper by 3M Company that really works well and is a water based solution that you can use inside the garage without having to ventilate or wear masks. If you leave it on overnight or several hours the paint will all bubble up and can be scrapped off. I used it on the fenders, gas tank, and grill of my Farmall B when I restored it last year. Everything I have purchased from Eastwood has been good. However, you can save some money on rust treatment by going to Lowe's, Home Depot, WalMart, etc.. Look in the paint section and you will find rust converters. They chemically change the rust molecules. The result is a black/gray coating that is chemically stable, and will stay that way for several days. You don't have to paint immediately, just wipe down with laquer thinner when you are ready to paint.

The most aggressive chemical strippers are the
heavy bodied methylene chloride based strippers. Klean Strip, Aircraft and others make it. You can get it at automotive paint stores, Auto-Zone, etc.. It's not cheap and it's a little messsy and you need to follow the precautions as far as protective clothing, good goggles, gloves, and respirator, not just a dust mask, good ventilation.. It may take several applications to get to bare metal. You will find some paints strip very quickly and others very difficult. There may still be a good deal of elbow grease required. Methylene chloride is not a friendly chemical. It burns the skin on contact and is therefore rather dangerous to the eyes. It is thought to cause cancer. I use these strippers but I do take all the precautions and work outside.

in my experience eastwood products are excelent, but very pricey. I guess it depends on the detail that you want.
