i was looking at a 400 farmall today. the guy trying to sell it told me it was very rare. only 500 made with wide front axle instead of the bicycle front end. it was in perfect shape and
the front axle did look stock. does any one know if this is true. thanks in adv

400 High Crop? The only way I could think it might be 1 of 500 made.

The high crop models had drop housings on the rear axles and sit higher off the ground than regular models I personally dont know if there was a 400 highcrop but they made mv,s hv,s smta,sin highcrop versions.

IH mfg'd pver 40,000 400,s. The wfe was a factory option, and I don't believe IH kept records of how many were sold with the wfe. No way is it rare.
