hello all, I just picked up a tractor with a loader, and was repainted yello so all the decals are gone, and there are no plaques, but I found some books behind the seat, on the loader, but the book for the tractor was gone, The paper work says it is a 2400 A series, with a 2050 loader, , I have a 454 with a loader , and the new yellow tractor looks similar in style,, same fuel tank behind the seat, and same dash, and automatic shifter, etc,,,,, but the 2400 seems smaller in size,, ok my question is the same basic components on both, ?

also the new loader has a leak in the hydro line I need to replace looks easy enuff, is the power steering and the hydro 3 pt lift all off the same resevoir?? because my ps squealls like crazy, but I need to add hydro oil,, but cant find where to put it,, is the fill hole on the rear by the 3 pt? sorry so long but thanks in advance for any help, pat

Hi, on the farm version of 454 the PS, PB and 3pt. hydraulics were all run from the same pump. The pump and filter were located under the left running board. The hydraulic oil dipstick was at your left heel on the running board. The reservior filler was the pipe plug behind the seat on top of the casting that the 3pt rock shaft goes thru.
Also there is a splitter valve that controls the flow of hydraulic oil to PS and PB. This sometimes gets clogged with dirt and you either have PS, PB and no 3pt or 3pt and no PS, PB.

Hope this helps
JB

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it, I think the PS was making noise because it was low on fluid from the broken hydro line, I disconnected it and not much oil camne out from the fitting, I heard or read somewhere the resevoir takes about 14 gals ,, thanks pat

I have a 2400A loader tractor. According to the Case IH dealer the engine and major components are the same as the 454. However the front end and hydraulics on the 2400A are much different. They are heavy duty and cast iron on the front end to withstand the loader pressure.

Sorry, I can't help on the hydraulic questions.

thanks , that is something I noticed too,the heavy front end, since you have one is the original color supposed to be yellow as this is a industrial loader tractor? I didnt realize the loader came with the tractor, but it makes sense, this one has a cab on it which is actually too small for me to fit in comfortable, but I am 6'7 so it is the only reson, thanks pat

The original color is International Yellow. The skirts on the front (at the radiator) on each side were painted white. The grille is black, wheels are white.
