I would like to reroute the charging system around or away from the four position light switch on my Farmall H.I have seen where people have installed a toggle switch instead. I don't know much about how generators work, so basic help is what I need. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here. I restore tractors for a living and have always had good luck getting the original switches working and I like to preserve the authenticity of the tractor by not installing extra parts like additional switches, etc. Even if you have to switch to 12 volts to help with starting in extreme cold, etc. you can still run with the original switch. Please give a little more info of why you want to add the toggle switch and then maybe I can help a little more. If you have a switch problem, maybe I can help fix it or find a replacement for you.

Lee, thanks for the info. If I could get some help on troubleshooting the switch, and how to check out the generator to see if it is charging, it would be helpful. My idea of the toggle switch was to eliminate the light switch from being a problem. I don't know if I have a problem in the generator , light switch,or the wiring. Or, for that matter, all three. Thanks again
