Well,I was all set to pull the top of the tranny back off of my H this afternoon top get the forks back right and I wanted to see which one I missed,so I took off the steering column, the seat, the tank, took all the bolts out and pryied up on the cover with a prybar and took a ppek inside. My first thought was right, missed 2nd and 3rd slider. The more I looked I got an idea,IF I could get it up just enoguh to move the gear in the right place, and I did it careful enough,I wouldnt have to pull the top and repalce an expensive, didnt fit right to start with unitl I modiifed it a little gasket!slide the gear back about a 1/4 inch, eased the top down and Whamo! problem fixed and to my surprise, after abotu two hours of riding the kids, not a single leak form the top..... ..... .YET!

Glad you got lucky but really not that big a deal to pop the top and get it back down on there. Select a gear on the top to position the forks. Move the gears into that position manually. Put the top down straight on and get each fork in a groove. Done. 5 or 6 tries you're done.
Place two bolts and test it. What's the big deal.

Gotta love it when things work out like that. It kind of makes up for all those other cursed moments when nothing seems to go right!. Good on ya.
