Any way to stop the condensation in the rear end?

I went to plow yesterday and started the ole 460 gas up and it had no hydraulic pressure and the pump was squealing. It went away in a minute and after running half throttle for about 10 minutes, it cleaned up and started working. I know the hydralic pump had water in the mix with the oil, but is there any way to stop this from happening? It sits in a shed most of the time so water on the platform is probably not the problem. Or should I just change it once a year? Thanks!

I have put a magnetic plug in heater on the hydraulic filter housing to thaw it out. If you use it every day plug it in when you shut dowm.

Probably not practical, but you can keep the tractor in a heated shed. Condensation happens when the tractor gets good and cold during a cold snap. Then a warm front with lots of moisture comes along and the tractor is still cold. So it sweats like a glass of iced tea in the summertime. It it is warm, as in a heated shed, it won't be cold, so it can't sweat.

The best thing would be to change the fluid periodically. This is just the result of the system heating up and then as it cools back down it will draw air back in as everything contracts. If you are in a high humidity region it will be more pronounced. Sometimes if a tractor has been sitting for awhile you can just loosen the drain plug and let all of the water drip out around the threads of the draim plug. It is still a good idea to change the fluids, especially if the oil has a milky color to it.

I am in one of the worst places as far as the humidity in this country. Condensation is a constant problem and has created numerous problems. I change mine twice a year and this has helped a lot. Gets expensive.
