I was wondering what you guys think about
running the 30wt. oil in lift-all on H.The
reason I ask is because of how slow my
3pt. hitch works in the weather we have had,
daytime highs in the teens recently.I would
like to try hydraulic oil,at least in winter.
I have never switched in the past, because I
don't want to hurt the pump? Thanks for you're thoughts

Use single grade non-detergent to prevent foaming.

The owners manual suggests using 20 weight in the winter and even 10 weight in extreme cold. But you have to keep in mind that 50 years ago we didn't have the technology for oil and other fluids that we have today, so I think it would be alright to use a multi-weight motor oil. Something like 10w-30 or 10w-40 should be just fine.

I use medium weight hydraulic oil year round in my H. It works fine in cold weather. As long as the lift all gear pump has clean oil, it does not care what it is.
