Jon-Sounds like James is in it for the money to me. Awful lot of M's sitting around waiting for that guy with a lot of money to pull up and offer the moon. I think Bill gave you the most realistic picture and agree with Allan that you should try not to sell. I don't understand always trying to drive up the prices on things. Really, I have a job where I make a living and don't need to go around scalping old tractors to get a few hundred bucks. I guess it's because I work hard for my money that I start to bristle a little when I hear about an overpriced tractor.
If I misunderstood James, let me apologize in advance...I am sure I will take enough heat for expressing this opinion. One of the nice things about red tractors is that they are still affordable but there are always people who want to change that...after they have bought theirs.

Dear sir, no im not in it for the money,matter of fact I do give away parts on this program.The best friend I have meet on this program was becaues I offered him a part for free,In turn he sent me several free parts.However a person who needs a good 40 hp tractor for every day use should be willimg to pay a fair market value.you cant buy a tin lawn mower for 1000.00.My heart goes out to a person who as a hobby that tries his best to fix up an old tractor then when he gets in a bind cant get 1/3 of his money back,I guess when i wrote this I was thinking of the old John Derres that are bringing twice as much as the far better farmalls.{my opinion}Also I had the privledge of playing Santa on this forrum and giving 6 childern a extra Christmas present{please keep this secret}

Jon,

You are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Never a good idea.

Let that 400 set until you get the money; it will wait for you.

Don't sell a tractor that you don't want to sell.

Just my opinion,

Allan

Sounds like $1200-1500 to me. Of course, I paid 1100 for one in worse shape than yours.

Sounds like you are inbetween a rock and a hard place if you have to sell one to fix the other. Sounds like it is a pretty sound M. In my neck of the woods, if sold at auction it would fetch atleast $800 + . How much more would depend on the day and who was at the auction. If I had one just like it to sell locally through classifids, I would exspect to get $1000, would want to get $1200, and would ask $1400. Just my 2 cents.
