I see from time to time about this but no definative answer.Just got Super M home and discovered the battery reversed by previous owner .He just put the battery in before I bought it .It was under seat so didn't see it .First noticed it when switch pulled on amp. guage showed charge.I have heard everthing from fried regulator to burnt wires .everything seems OK now .???What dire things can I expect.

Keith,

Shouldn't hurt it a bit on that model. That iron could give a hoot less which way it is hooked up.

Kinda like 'which is the best oil?'. This is a human preference and the iron doesn't care.

They were set up as positive ground at the facory, but it really does not matter in the overall scheme of things.

I changed it around to pos.+ grounded.Started right up and charged just like ie should .Maybe I lucked out .I was 5 degrees this AM when I was working on it BRRRR!!!! .This tractor has a 12volt sys. with apparantly a 12v. generator.

Better re-polarize the generator by touching the "Bat" terminal to the "Gen" terminal on the regulator for a fraction of a second. Then start 'er up & observe the results.

Keith T, If still 6 volt and on generator it should be + ground. Check battery cables.
