I found a Zenith Carburetor for sale that supposedly fits a SA and SC among other tractors. The part number is #385608R91. My SC Parts Book lists a #355485R91 as the correct Zenith Carb. Can anyone verify that the #385608R91 is correct for a SA and a Super AV. I would assume that the SA and SAV would take the same carb but I have been surprized before. Thanks

A carb that looks right and fits right might not necessarily be the right one. A week ago I got a carb that was supposed to be the right one for a B Farmall. I put it on the B and all the tractor did was chug and smoke. Took it off and found the load jet was a #27 where the original one was a # 18. Put the 18 from the old carb into the 'new' carb and the tractor ran smooth but kind of acted lean at high idle, so I got a kit for the original carb and rebuilt it like I should have done in the first place. Maybe the replacement carb was set up for a fuel tractor instead of gas.

Zenith Gasoline carbs for the Super A are 161X7 --52499DB thru chassis serial # 255417, and 352376 R92 for 255418-up. The Zenith 67x7 is 355485 R91 and is also used on 255418 up. I do not find 385608 R91 in either my C or Super A parts book. That is not to say it won't fit and operate properly. Sometimes the inlet on the carb and outlet on the air cleaner are different diameters, however.

Did what Scotty did and looked in the VB catalog -- your number is listed as fitting the A thru 404, but the Super A is not listed -- may be an omission as if it fits the A,B,C, and Super C why not the Super A? They also list 355485 R91 and 358901 R91 as fitting only the Super A and Super C. As fixrupper said, there could be some problem with jetting, as I doubt if one size fits all.

Bud, I could be wrong, but the number that you are talking about, I think is the serial number of the carb. On my 49 Super A that number is 352876R92. On the same aluminum tab is another number 10514A. I believe that is the number you should be looking for. If you look in the Valu-Bil* catologue, that number 10514A is what they reference to in the replacement carburator section. Hope this helps.

The IH numbers are what Zenith calls "customer part numbers". I think the 8 in your R92 number is supposed to be a 3.

CNKS, Upon closer inspection with a magnifying glass, you are correct, the eyes are not what they used to be. Started wearing glasses at 50, and at 52 Im ready for a new set! Thanks for setting me straight!
