Was the engine in a 806 gas made by IH or somebody else, Also was the rest of tractor same as diesel such as rear end, transmission, etc;;Thankyou

Yes the engine was IH a 301 cid .Trans & rear end same as diesel.

Thanks,,,One more question, How about reliability and would they run a long time, The diesels seemed to run forever, was wondering about the gas ones,,, Again thank you;;;

we had a gassser, ate valves bad at high rpm, good valve job may have fixed it, gas hog so we sold it.

The 806 gas did not have sleeves, so a rebuild calls for a new block.

Boy. Who have you been talking to? You can bore those out 20 or 30 thousands and use oversized pistons. If that don't do it, bore and sleeve the block. If you have any of those blocks you've thrown out, let me know please

They are like anything else with proper maintenence they last a long time but eventually every motor will need a overhaul. Brian
