Bud: On the inside of the left seat support for both A and SA. Basically under the seat.

Hugh
Please check my other post earlier today. I looked at that SA/A? a couple of months ago and was interested in it until I saw the serial number and didn't know what to think. The 6832DA casting number was somewhere ( I believe it was either up by the shifter or possibly on the block or head - I didn't write down the location and I have slept since ). One possibility is that the seat was replaced with one from a straight A. Other than the touch control which I assume could have been added is there any other way to tell if it is a SA ?

Bud: Sam is right, very hard and costly to change an A to a SA. Your engine serial number very obvious a Super A number The torque tube on the A is round on top whereas the SA torque tube is flat on top for mounting the touch control. As Sam said match up the casting codes. By the way, what did the SHV sell for and are you the new owner?

If the tractor started out life as a regular A then a touch control unit couldn't be added without changing the torque tube and engine block. If these have been changed then it is probably just as good as a Super A as they were about the only major differences. Part numbers won't help too much to identify it but casting codes can help you id the castings and determine when they were made. Hope this helps. SAm in NS
