I have both the Farmall and International version of the 240. I like both of them and they are good workers. The farmall has the higher rear tires and have the narrow front. I purchased the farmall 240 from a neighbor who used it for bushhoging. He really like it and his wife also used it. I think they have about 30 hp. Parts are available but seem to cost more than parts for the higher number tractors.

The rowcrops were made from 1958 to 1961. The utilities were built one year longer. I have a rowcrop. They have the C-123 engine and put out 32 horses. Parts can be harder to find than most models due to the smaller quantities produced. They evolved from the "C".

i've got 240 utility..i think mine is 1960 or 61' has 122.5 cu in (i really like the motor, easy to work on) don't know hp 30? i think its a good tractor, but really depends on what you want to use it for...this tractor i have was originally used on a golf course, mowing etc...i wish mine had auxilliary hydraulics....i think they're worth $1000-3000..I hope this helps, i'm no technical expert with the details...

I have had a 240U for about 4 years now and I am very happy with it's performance and simplicity of repair and how rugged it seems to be. I use mine with a 5' Ford brushhog on about 7 acres of scrub crap and grass, use a rear blade for grading and also I plow snow with a front mounted blade. It has the 123 engine and puts out about 30 hp which is more than adequate for all the tasks I ask it to do. I paid $2500 in New England, which would be a higher price than most any other place,,,it seems. The condition was good, with only 1 rear tire that needed replacing, also got the brushhog in the deal for $2500.

Ken, can you give some info on your front mounted blade? A picture(s) would be nice also if you are able. I purchased a 340 rowcrop three weeks ago and have yet to use the rear blade for snow. This may change by tomorrow evening though!! I have been plowing with a Ford 2N and front Dearborn blade. I sure like plowing forward. Thanks in advance.
