Hello,

I am fabricating a front weight bracket for my wide front 300 farmall. I have presently fabricated two "arms" of 1/2" plate about 4 feet long, 5 inches tall which will bolt to the sides of the tractor frame.

Are there any preferred points of bolt attachment?
For weight I am thinking of a box I could fill with boulders.

I built a bracket for my SM, used 2x2 sq tubing bolted to my framerails (1x 5/8 and 3x 1/2 inch per side) and into the holes for the cultivator pins in the front casting, then 2 peices of 1/4 thick by 6 tall long enough to weld onto those and welded together for a 1/2 thick plate, and drilled holes so it will hold IH suitcase weights. Also good for pushing wagons into barn.

Bill, I was wrong. It wasn't in the Farmer connection, it is in Shoups spring catalog inside the front cover. I don't know if its what you had in mind but, it's there if you want to see. I don't know if it's on the web site or not but you can see for yourself. www.shoupparts.com

I just saw someting real simular to what you are describing in an issue of Farm Connection. Theirs is rigged up with a lever to bottom dump if you want to empty the thing. You can use it as a carry all or to carry rocks out of the field or leave the rocks in for added weight. I cannot find it right now to see if they had a web address, so I look later.
