When I found my 1952 Farmall Super A, it had a gauge on the forward hydraulic arm spreader. The 37" "cable" ran to the center of the hydraulic oil screen port. Neither my Operators Manual or Parts Manual mention or show this gauge. I saw one on an "M" in Yuma last year, but can't find it in any Super A or M parts houses. Can you help me? Thanks, Pete in Bend, Oregon

I believe Super C's were equipped with the HYd. temp gauge configured the same. The gauge was mounted on the forward section of touch control lever bracket.

Pete: No one ever saw the temperature hand rise, so IH stopped putting them on after the number series tractors came out.

Thanks Hugh, that is very interesting. Now I must make the decision whether to restore the Super A to the "condition" in which I got it, or plug the port. That will depend upon whether I can still find the gauge. Farmer Bob told me to look into the Super C parts catelog. I am REALLY pleased with the fast responses from you two. I asked a question about a 1988 Wrangler I was rebuilding on a Jeep chat room and NO ONE EVER REPLIED. You tractor guys are great. Thanks.
