H Seat Shock Absorber

The old shock absorber has a Monroe number on it but they no longer make an equal one. Has anyone found a substitute?

Dave,

Is the shock the long one at the very rear of the seat or the short one under the seat? If it is the long one at the back of the seat, Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch has them - around $30. If it is the short one under the seat, Bermuda Ken has them at Carter & Gruenewald and these are arount $50, I think.

Dave, I bought one for my M from a local Case/IH dealer but I had to fork out $$. They are available new from various other places, I'm sure.

i went into the auto parts store with the overall length and the stlye ends I wanted and the were able to look it up. About 14$ i think. email me if you want me to get the numbers off mine

OEM also has them. $33.00 for the front mount, and $35.00 for the longer rear mount. Call 1-800-283-2122. Ask for Chad. He'll also send you a free catalog for the asking.
